An upcoming inquiry into politicians’ entitlements will take place in a gorgeous beachside resort in far-north Queensland, Malcolm Turnbull has confirmed.
Mr Turnbull said Port Douglas was the most logical place to hold the enquiry, given its convenient location just 1,750km north of Brisbane.
“We considered many different options. But Port Douglas is the best place to consider a wide range of views. Uninterrupted 180 degree views I’m told”.
He said Broome – a financial hub regularly visited by Finance Minister Matthias Cormann – was also considered. The inquiry will start this coming winter.
