The controversy surrounding an advertisement from animal rights activists PETA, has shifted from whether the fake sheep has been shorn too closely, to whether the real sheep has been shorn at all.
Experts say that while shearing can sometimes cause cuts and bleeding, under-shearing can lead to overheating, infection and ordering piccolo lattes.
One commentator said the ad was quite confronting. “It’s hard to look at. You could make a dozen winter coats out of that thing. What a waste”.
