The Western Australian Liberal party says its state may withdraw entirely from the real world if it doesn’t get a lot more money.
“If this GST issue isn’t resolved, Western Australia may have no option but to disengage entirely from any concept of what a reasonable person may regard as normal, intelligent behaviour,” a spokesperson said.
He reminded those in the real world not to take Western Australia for granted. “We’ve had a tetchy relationship with common sense for over 100 years. We’re not afraid to walk away from it altogether now.
“Let’s be crystal clear. Reality relies on us more than we rely on it. We’re willing to make a clean break if push comes to shove,” he said.
The party rejected claims that it was on another planet. “We’re not, but we’re in the process of negotiating a trade agreement with one”.
