Hundreds of people who spent hours in a rain-soaked queue in Melbourne today were shocked to discover a mid-market clothing chain at the end.
“I was expecting perhaps some naked footballers, or at least a free car. So it was a little disappointing to find a rack of sensibly-priced cotton t-shirts instead,” said Holly Court who left her Sandringham home at 4:30 this morning to join the queue.
Despite the anti-climax, Ms Court managed to draw some positives from the experience. “I lined up to see the Royals in Sydney last week, and I have to admit, the $29.95 hooded sweatshirt I saw today was more interesting”.
