Sports commentator-come-bookmaker Tom Waterhouse conceded this morning “I don’t know how they transfer people’s voices through the air to little pieces of plastic with buttons. But I know what punters want”.
The admission comes after an extensive television advertising campaign last year warning punters that Waterhouse has absolutely no comprehension of sport.
Waterhouse acknowledged that not understanding sport or technology could be seen as hindrance for a modern bookmaker, but said his family had always been unconventional. “Did you know my mum’s Gai? We’re not your standard, conventional family”.
