A woman who was tested for gluten intolerance this week says she’s quietly looking forward to breaking the news to friends, once her test results come back.
Heather Griggs says she will start discussing her dietary requirements in “quite some detail” at dinner parties and at the café near her workplace from as early as tomorrow.
Ms Griggs says that going without most breads, pastas and cakes for the rest of her life will be challenging, but believes it is a “price worth paying” for the stimulating conversation it will provide. “Even if the results come back negative, I’m pretty-much committed to this,” Griggs said. “It’s already part of who I am”.
