Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has reiterated his thoughts on marriage, saying for him it has always been, and always will be, a special bond between a man and the far right faction of his political party.
Speaking to the media this morning, Mr Turnbull said, “It’s a strong bond, a sacred bond. Some would call it a dependence; I call it a vital connection. Either way, now is not the time to go mucking about with that relationship.
“I made a vow, a solemn promise, when I began this relationship, and I do not intend to break that promise now. Once you start changing the definition, or the meaning, of special partnerships such as this, there’s no turning back”.
Opposition Leader Bill Shorten responded to the claim saying he believed all unions were sacred.
