Australian internet users who illegally downloaded Oscar winning movie Dallas Buyers Club will be forced to watch How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days non-stop for two years, or face fines of up to $250,000.

It follows a court ruling handed down today in favour of the acclaimed film.

Lawyers for the movie said infringers could expect to receive a letter this week outlining their options. “Sit through 20,000 hours of Ghosts of Girlfriends Past and The Wedding Planner, or pay a small, very reasonable quarter-of-a-million dollar penalty,” a spokesperson said.

One man who downloaded the film said the choice was easy. “I wouldn’t last 30 minutes. I’ll be paying the fine”.
