US firm Platinum Equity this morning bought Australia’s ‘Yellow and White Pages’ for a reported $454 million. It is believed to be a new record for signature pieces from the late 1990s period.

20th century expert Lee Warren said the work may be the last remaining piece from the era. “A lot of people didn’t even realise ‘Yellow and White Pages’ was still in existence. This is a savvy purchase”.

A spokesperson from Platinum Equity said the iconic books would be used to make an innovative display in the foyer of the company’s Los Angeles headquarters.
