Malcolm Turnbull Launches New Logo For Coalition’s Broadband Policy

The Shovel Australian satire

Shadow Communications Minister Malcolm Turnbull today launched the new logo for the Coalition’s broadband plan, during a captivating overhead projector presentation to Liberal Party faithful.

Mr Turnbull, who invented the internet in the early 1990s, said the new circular logo was “inclusive, dynamic and conveyed a sense of endless possibilities. Although when I say ‘endless’, that’s obviously just a figure of speech”.

“I really like the little dots,” he added.

Opposition Leader Tony Abbott, who was also at the launch, said computers were definitely the future. “Everyone’s talking about them,” he said.

Asked why a black and white logo was chosen, as opposed to a colour one, Mr Abbott said, “we were told it was cheaper”.

I think this new inter web thing is just a passing fad and the government should not be wasting our tax dollars on something that will go the way of the Whitlam fiasco.
Once people seen the wonderful advantages of the Morse Code V2.1 they won’t go back, with it’s higher speeds and proven reliability, without all those floppy dicks, hard sticks and dongly things.
The way of the future lies with solar powered Heliographs, the only cloud on the horizon is the loss of thousand of telegraph line maintenance men who can easily be re- employed as coastwatcner border protection guards.

nice, but there will be a few telegraph women as well, could they be employed degaussing wind turbines?

Of course the telegraph women could be employed as turbine degaussers, some of my best friends are female turbine degaussers.Unfortunately in line with the social norm of paying women less money than men for doing the same job it is more economically viable to get pregnant and stay at home on the Paid Parental Leave scheme and work from home on the world wide net selling training courses for female turbine degaussers.
Being a wage slave up a fifty metre pole is hard work.I make much more money at home waking up at he crack noon and email spamming gullible people on the career prospects of green energy.By twelve thirty I have to decide what I’m not going to do for the rest of the day.

Someone should explain the meaning of the word satire. Some don’t get it.

It needs a name change too. I suggest “Liberal Operational Analogue Digital Interwebby Network Gamble” or LOADING for short. It contains the word operational to ensure that they make no comment about it. Mind you given the state of the copper network, they could easily use the “we don’t comment on ‘on water’ matters” routine.
